Chrissy Teigen has made no secret of the fact that she struggled with post-partum depression since giving birth exactly one year ago. (Baby Luna is one year old tomorrow – where has the time gone?!)
But, despite still admitting that she still has a few “bad days”, Chrissy Teigen may have well and truly conquered her PPD once and for all, and is now giving fellow sufferers her advice on getting over it.
The key thing to note is that it WILL get better, no matter how bad you think it might be.
Chrissy Teigen is walking, talking, Tweeting, living proof!
“I’m really starting to feel like myself again”, she said. “Just know that there’s a light on the other side”.
“When I was in the midst of everything, I could never imagine myself on the other side of it. Now, I’m able to look at September, October, November, December, and shake my head at how dark and crazy of a period it was.
“Unfortunately, you can only really do that when you’re out of it. There’s no other way to explain it. And there’s no better feeling than being out of it.”
But we think the key bit of advice is the bit that follows…
“Of course, you have your good and bad days,” she added. “I just had a bad day a couple days ago. But the bad days do not outweigh the good days anymore.
“Just when you think it’s really really bad, it’s going to get better. So hopefully, if you’re going through something tough you can find some peace in knowing that.”
Wouldn’t the world be a better place if A-listers shared their problems and really raised awareness in the same way Chrissy Teigen has?
Good on you, girl!
And Happy Birthday to gorgeous little Luna, tomorrow!
