Meghan Markle’s family has been the subject of news headlines for the whole week – and now the future Princess has decided to set the record straight once and for all.

While Meghan Markle has kept a dignified silence over her other family members (yes half sis Samantha Grant, we’re looking at you) she has spoken about whether her father will be attending the wedding following a mild heart attack and constant media scrutiny. And it doesn’t look good…

“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding,” she said in a statement released by Kensington Palace this morning.

“I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.

“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support.

“Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”

Now that the father of the bride won’t be in attendance, it’s currently unclear who will be walking Meghan down the aisle on Saturday.

It’s widely believed that her mother, Doria Ragland, will get to do the honours, although some sources think Prince William or even Prince Charles might step in.

Not long to go ‘til we find out!
