Newly engaged Idris Elba might want to see a female Bond, but Daniel Craig’s wife Rachel Weisz doesn’t share the same opinion.

“Bond author Ian Fleming devoted an awful lot of time to writing this particular character who is particularly male and relates in a particular way to women,” Rachel Weisz told The Telegraph.

“Why not create your own story rather than jumping on to the shoulders and being compared to all those other male predecessors?

“Women are really fascinating and interesting and should get their own stories.”

Do you agree with her?

We aren’t surprised that Rachel feels this way, since she herself has been working on some pretty powerful film projects which feature strong female lead characters. Bond, who?!

Her latest project, Disobedience, is something we can’t wait to hit the big screen. It’s about a Jewish woman who returns to London after her father dies, and has a love affair with her former best friend – played by none other than Rachel McAdams. The story is based on the novel by ‘Women’s Prize for Fiction’ winner Naomi Alderman, so you know it’s going to be good from beginning to end!

Who needs James Bond?!
