Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have shocked the world by announcing that they will be separating after nine years of marriage.

Had the announcement come a few days ago, we would have thought that it was a (somewhat weird) April Fool’s joke, as the pair seemed like the epitome of happiness.

They met on the set of Step Up back in 2006 and got married in 2009.

“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” the couple wrote in a joint statement.

We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”

The pair has a five-year-old daughter Everly together, who will undoubtedly be their main priority.

“There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible,” the statement continued.

“We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.”

Channing Tatum shared the full statement on his Instagram, which you can check out here.

As we always like to see the glass half full, we’ll leave you with one final note. Channing Tatum is now officially single, so form an orderly queue ladies…
