Since Sunday night’s explosive Oprah interview, Meghan Markle has received support from a number of famous women all over the world – from Hillary Clinton to Serena Williams – and now the one and only Beyoncé has also spoken out in defense of the Duchess…

She took to her official website to thank Meghan Markle for having the courage to speak out, with a short but very powerful message…

“Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership,” Beyoncé wrote on her official website, alongside a picture of the two of them at the London premiere of The Lion King back in July 2019.

“We are all strengthened and inspired by you,” she added.

In a separate post on the website to celebrate International Women’s Day, Beyoncé also mentioned and praised 12 women she regarded as “rule breakers” – and Meghan Markle was listed among them!

“For those who created their own way to tell their stories, found other avenues to get to the destinations, and broke every rule in the process, We See You!” the post read.

“We salute each and every one of you on this International Women’s Day.”

As well as the Duchess of Sussex, Beyoncé’s rule breakers were Janet Mock, Bozoma Saint John, Laverne Cox, Thasunda Brown Duckett, Amina J. Mohammed, Maxine Waters, Rosalind “Roz” Brewer, Stacey Abrams, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Elsa Majimbo, and Jane Fonda.
