Following on from yesterday’s news about Michael B. Jordan being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive (you definitely need to check out his cover and editorial pictures… you’re welcome!) comes the news that Cardi B has received Billboard’s coveted ‘Woman of the Year’ award for 2020.

Congratulations, Cardi!

She will accept her award at the virtual Billboard Women in Music event, which will take place on December 10th.

“Thank you Billboard!” she wrote on Instagram.

“Now I can bring up the stats but that will take me all day b**** broke records!

“Thank you BARDIGANG with out y’all encouraging while the world was against me and criticizing every move I wouldn’t have gotten here everyday and use my voice for a change (sic)”

We couldn’t be happier for the 28-year-old WAP rapper, although quite a few people – haters, shall we say – on social media weren’t happy about Billboard’s choice for the prestigious accolade.

Naturally, Cardi B didn’t take the hateful comments lying down, and silenced her critics with a very Cardi B style message…

“For you crybabies that’s like ‘what? she only got one song’ – yeah I got that song, b****,” her response began.

“You know? The one that sold the most, the one that streamed the most. The one that had republicans on Fox News crying about it. The one that’s about to be six times platinum in three months.

“The one that had your grandma popping her ***** on TikTok. Yeah, b****, that one.”

Talk about shutting the haters down…

Cardi B isn’t the only A-lister being awarded a big prize at the Billboard Women in Music awards though…

Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Icon Award (no arguments there!), while Dolly Parton will take home the 2020 Hitmaker Award.

Dua Lipa is also winning big, as she will receive the Powerhouse Award. The Rising Star Award will go to Chloe x Halle, while Jessie Reyez will walk away with the Impact Award.

Sounds like it’s going to be an epic and unmissable night.

Congratulations to all these incredible women!
