Ellen DeGeneres has finally spoken out about Portia De Rossi’s emergency hospitalization last week.

According to reports, Portia de Rossi was rushed to hospital last week, after experiencing excruciating pain in her abdomen due to appendicitis. She reportedly underwent emergency surgery to remove her appendix, and is now said to be recovering well at home – phew!

Ellen updated her fans on her wife’s health on the latest episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show…

“Anybody else have to rush their wife to the emergency room for an appendectomy? Anybody? No? Just me? OK,” she said as part of her monologue on the show.

Ellen also told her fans that she had to rush Portia to hospital on Friday March 19, after finding her “on all fours” on the floor in extreme pain, hours after they had gone to bed…

“So I rush her to the ER, and we’re driving and she’s in so much pain, and I’m worried about her, and I don’t know what’s wrong with her, because as you know, I grew up Christian Science, so my best guess was a demon,” she continued.

“So anyway, they gave her a CT scan and I didn’t know what that was.”

She then told fans that she wasn’t actually allowed to stay with her in the hospital because of COVID-19 precautions, and was sent home…

“The next morning, they call and they said, ‘It’s the appendix. We have to take the appendix out,'” she continued, before adding that Portia is still “in a lot of pain” from the surgery but is “feeling much better now”.

She is recovering back at their mansion in Beverly Hills…

“She’s home. She came home late yesterday. Not all of her, she left her appendix at the hospital,” Ellen concluded.

We’re glad to hear that Portia is doing better, and wish her a full and speedy recovery!
