Could we BE any more obsessed with the Friends reunion?
Fans had nothing but praise for the HBO Max Friends reunion which aired last week – although James Corden’s hosting and the absence of many of the show’s other guest stars such as Paul Rudd and Cole Sprouse, to name just two, did receive a few complaints.
However, all in all, the Friends reunion was a huge success; although a lot of fans were concerned about Matthew Perry. In particular, his slurred speech…
The actor – who played Chandler Bing on Friends – has made no secret of his past struggles with addiction over the years, and even told BBC Radio 2 back in 2016 that “somewhere between season 3 and 6” of the show he was “a little out of it.”
Hence why fans were concerned that he may have relapsed during the time of the reunion…
However, show creators have assured fans that Matthew Perry is doing well, and there’s a very good and innocent explanation for his slurred speech…
“Matthew turned up at the reunion and members of his team said he had an emergency tooth procedure that day. This was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling,” an insider reportedly told The Sun, before adding that the surgery had left the actor “in pain”…
“Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew, especially in recent days, given how people reacted online.
“Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry.”
We’re glad to hear that it isn’t anything more concerning – and obviously, feel bad that he was unwell for the reunion that the cast – and the fans – waited 17 years for.
Talk about bad timing!
