It doesn’t seem like Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich’s break-up was that amicable after all…

According to Max Ehrich, he and Demi hadn’t officially discussed the status of their engagement – i.e. that it was over – and he only found out when the rest of the world did…

“Imagine finding out about the status of your relationship through a tabloid,” he said on his Instagram Story over the weekend.

“While your [sic] in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people.”

He shared another post to Instagram, telling his followers that the co-stars of his new movie had to pick him back up after he found out, so that filming could continue…

“I was on the set of my new movie, Southern Gospel, with crew and cast members right next to me who literally watched me open my phone where I then opened a tabloid,” he added.

“This is the God’s honest truth of how I found out about the ending of the engagement and have people from my film who saw the whole thing go down and helped me get back into character to continue my job.

“I had cast and crew with families relying on me to do my job. That being said, please end this narrative and focus on more important issues in the world. I love and forgive everyone involved. Let us be. Let us heal. God bless.”

However, sources close to Demi have insisted that Max might not be telling the whole truth…

An insider told E! News that the Young and the Restless star “is lying” about being blindsided by the reports of the break-up.

Even though it was Demi who called off the engagement, the insider insists that Demi made sure that her now former fiancé knew before the rest of the world did…

“Demi did tell him beforehand,” the insider continued, adding that he is, “just trying to stay relevant”, with his social media posts…

“Her family thinks he is crazy and is so relieved she has taken this step.”

And Max’s social media action didn’t end at the claims of being blindsided by the break-up. He also took to Instagram to tell Demi – and the whole world – that he still loves her.

“Please stop trying to ‘Thank you, next’ me,” he wrote.

“For I’m just a human being who has to go to work tomorrow AM where there are families with kids relying on me.

“To this moment… we haven’t spoken over the phone… we haven’t even officially ended anything to each other, literally. I’m here in real time with y’all. I love Demetria and just want her to be healthy and safe.”

In a post seemingly addressed to Demi directly – but still, very publicly for the rest of the world to see – he continued to profess his love for not only Demi, but also her songs and vocal talent…

“If you’re reading this… I love you always… unconditionally… no matter what,” he continued.

“Demetria is THEE best female vocalist alive. And everyone should know it. She inspires me every day and is an INCREDIBLE human being.

“I know it’s not her writing these stories, it’s a machine. I love her unconditionally.”
