Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville has faced quite a bit of scrutiny over her changing face these past few years.

But her latest appearance isn’t due to a combination of surgery, fillers, and Botox – it is in fact, according to Brandi herself, the result of a horrific accident…

The 48-year-old former RHOBH star took to social media and confessed that she had suffered second-degree burns a few months ago, after an at-home light treatment to get rid of psoriasis went horribly wrong.

Although the mom-of-two reportedly didn’t want to draw attention to her injuries, the media scrutiny she has faced following her drastically different appearance on Australia’s The Morning Show this week has forced her hand…

“So this happened to me in December 2nd degree burns all over my face from an accident with a psoriasis light I am still healing & really didn’t want to share these photos but since @DailyMail is attacking my looks her is the 411,” she wrote, alongside a close-up picture of her face.

“I’m OK but you know it happened in December I’m still swollen and having people attack my looks just makes me feel like I never wanna leave my house and I just want to cry,” she said, in response to a concerned fan who asked her about her current health.

“My retinas were burned my eyelashes burned off I couldn’t open my eyes for three days the light was so painful.”

Brandi went on to confess that the accident was her own fault, as she misunderstood her doctor’s instructions…

“It was an accident obviously my doctor told me to hold the light over my face for 17.3 what I thought were minutes but it was seconds,” she continued.

“Completely my fault. It was suppose to help the psoriasis that was overtaking my face from stress.”

We’re glad that Brandi felt brave enough to tell her fans (and critics) the truth, and we wish her a speedy recovery!
