Yesterday we were met with the devastating news that fashion designer Kate Spade was found dead in her Park Avenue apartment.

The 55-year-old designer was found by her housecleaner, hanging by a scarf in her bedroom.

Actor and comedian David Spade has now broken his silence and has taken to social media to reflect on the death of his beloved sister in law.

“Fuzzy picture but I love it,” he wrote, underneath an Instagram picture of the two of them at Christmas.

“Kate and I during Christmas family photos. We had so much fun that day. She was so sharp and quick on her feet. She could make me laugh so hard. I still can’t believe it.”

He then added more words in a separate Twitter post…

“Katy at my book signing,” he wrote underneath another picture.

“I love this pic of her. So pretty. I don’t think everyone knew how f–ing funny she was… It’s a rough world out there people. Try to hang on.”

Official statements have also come from the family, as well as Kate Spade New York, the eponymous label she founded.

“We at Kate Spade New York just learned of the incredibly sad news that Kate Spade has passed,” the statement read.

“Although Kate has not been affiliated with the brand for more than a decade, she and her husband and creative partner, Andy, were the founders of our beloved brand. Kate will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with Andy and the entire Spade family at this time.”

Our thoughts are with husband Andy Spade and 13-year-old daughter Frances Beatrix Spade, as well as the rest of her friends and family.

RIP.
