Jennifer Lopez is about so much more than her rumored new relationship with old flame, Ben Affleck…

The 51-year-old singer and actress is once again making headlines, this time for her brand new partnership with Netflix!

According to reports, Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican Productions, has signed a multi-year first-look production deal with Netflix – and the first two films are apparently already in the works!

Jennifer Lopez, alongside her producing partners Benny Medina, and president of Nuyorican Productions Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, are set to produce both scripted and unscripted film and television content that aims to showcase diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers…

“I am excited to announce my new partnership with Netflix,” J-Lo said in a statement.

“Elaine, Benny and I believe there is no better home for us than a forward-leaning content creation company that seeks to defy conventional wisdom and directly market to the millions across the globe who no longer view art and entertainment with the kind of boundaries and limitations of the past.

“We at Nuyorican Productions are thrilled to find like-minded partners in Ted Sarandos, Scott Stuber, Bela Bajaria and the whole team and look forward to getting to work right away.”

The first two features, entitled The Mother and The Cipher (the latter of which is based on the novel of the same name by Isabella Maldonado) have already been announced, and will reportedly both star Jennifer Lopez.

The actress is said to be currently training for her role in The Mother, an action movie directed by Mulan’s Niki Caro which will show Jennifer Lopez as a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to teach her daughter how to survive. We can expect it to be released towards the end of 2022.

We couldn’t be more excited by this collaboration – and it seems like Netflix feel exactly the same way…

“Throughout every aspect of her career, Jennifer Lopez has been a force in entertainment,” Scott Stuber, Netflix’s head of global films, said in a statement.

“In partnering with her and Nuyorican, we know she will continue to bring impactful stories, joy and inspiration to audiences around the world.”

Sounds like an amazing partnership, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they will produce!
