Pregnancy hormones are up and down at the best of times, let alone during a global pandemic…

Katy Perry has made no secret of the fact that she is struggling with the lockdown measures that have been put in place in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The Never Worn White singer shared a very candid, heart-breaking status on social media about suffering from depression during this very confusing time…

“Sometimes I don’t know what’s worse trying to avoid the virus or the waves of depression that come with this new norm,” the 35-year-old singer shared with her fans on Twitter.

She also opened up about her struggles with mental health on SHEIN’s Together livestream event at the weekend. She confessed that she has only had “five good days”, and often finds herself bursting into tears…

“I cry when I look down at my toes or I cry when just doing simple tasks,” she said.

“I think a lot of that is hormonal and I’m not used to being around so many people all in a confined or a small space for so long. I’m used to going out all the time.

“There is not really anywhere to go besides my car. So I go to my car a lot. That is my safe space.”

However, as well as her car acting as her safe space, it seems like fiancé Orlando Bloom is doing everything he can to reassure and take care of her.

According to insiders, he and Katy are keeping themselves busy by preparing for the imminent arrival of their little girl. Although, they aren’t having a virtual baby shower like many other expectant parents seem to be. At least, not until after the baby arrives…

“They are getting excited and starting to decorate the nursery,” the source told E! News.

“They had wanted to have a baby shower but feel it’s going to be safer to do something after the baby arrives and see where things are then.

“They know they will do some sort of celebration when the time is right. Katy is getting bigger by the day and it’s all starting to feel very real. They can’t wait.”

And we can’t wait either!

Hang in there Katy – we’re all thinking of you…
