The whole of Hollywood is in mourning following the unexpected death of beloved Full House star and comedian, Bob Saget.

The 65-year-old actor – perhaps best known for his role as widowed father Danny Tanner in the US sitcom, Full House – was reportedly found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, January 9th, and pronounced dead at the scene.

His death comes just one day after he performed a standup show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Florida on Saturday night.

The cause of his death is currently unclear, although detectives reportedly don’t suspect “signs of foul play or drug use”…

“Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

“The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced deceased on scene.

“Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

Saget’s Full House co-star, John Stamos, led tributes to the actor and comedian on social media…

“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him,” Stamos wrote on Twitter.

Full House co-stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – who jointly played the role of Michelle Tanner on the show – said he was the “most loving, compassionate and generous man”…

“We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has,” the 35-year-old twins said in a statement, according to People.

“We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences.”

Whoopi Goldberg took to social media to share her condolences, writing: “Sail on my friend Bob Saget with your huge heart and abject lunacy. My condolences to his daughters & other family.”

Jim Carrey tweeted: “Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake.”

Tim Allen wrote: “Terribly sad news great friend, great comedian and wonderful man Bob Saget passed. Hit me hard. Prayers and my open heart to his family.”

Comedian Dane Cook said he was “stunned beyond belief” by Saget’s unexpected passing, while Josh Gad, otherwise known as the voice of Olaf in Frozen, said “there wasn’t a kinder person in Hollywood”.

RIP Bob Saget – gone but never forgotten.
