If Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, wants to get back into his daughter’s good books, we don’t think he’s going about it in the best way.

Thomas Markle couldn’t resist another TV interview (risky, as his interviews are reportedly one of the reasons why Meghan Markle stopped contact in the first place) and spilled all to Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.

The 74-year-old retired Hollywood lighting director explained how he has been trying to get in contact with his daughter – the new Duchess of Sussex – for months, but to no avail.

“I am disappointed by it,” he said.

“I’ve been ghosted. I’m not sure why it’s happening. I love my daughter very much. I wish she would reach out, send me a text, anything. There has to be a place for me. I’m her father.

“I have been trying to reach out for several weeks, every day I try to text her, but haven’t received anything back.”

He also added that he would like The Queen to step in so that they could reunite in time for Christmas.

“I would appreciate anything she can do and I would think that she would want to resolve the family problems,” he added.

“All families, royal or otherwise, are the same and should be together at the holidays.

“I’m hopeful that something will be resolved and we’ll be talking. This can’t continue forever.”

Piers Morgan couldn’t help but ask Thomas Markle his thoughts on the bad press surrounding Meghan Markle lately – in particular those rumors about her being rude to staff…

“I don’t believe the reports, I think they’re gossip – Meghan has never been rude to anyone she learned to respect everyone,” he said.

“She’s always been a very controlling person and that’s part of her nature but she’s never been rude.

“The ghosting I don’t completely understand – she’s always been in charge, that’s her nature, but not been rude.”

“She was raised on Hollywood stages and learned to respect the crew. She learned to respect everyone – I just can’t see her being rude to anybody. It’s not her.”

Will his supportive words be enough for Meghan to initiate contact? Only time will tell…
