Tina Turner’s eldest son, Craig Turner, has reportedly been found dead.
The 59-year-old, who Tina Turner gave birth to when she was just 18 years old, was found dead at his home in Studio City, California. He died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“The LA County Coroner’s office tells ET that Craig was pronounced dead at his home on Tuesday after a call reporting suicide,” read a Tweet from Entertainment Tonight.
“The call was reported as a suicide, gunshot wound,” a spokesperson added to ET.
“The next of kin has been notified. There will be an autopsy done and there is an investigator at the scene.”
Tina Turner attended the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture fashion show in Paris just a few hours before her son’s death. She will reportedly fly back to the USA imminently.
Although Craig Turner’s biological father was saxophonist Raymond Hill, Ike Turner officially adopted him after he married Tina back in 1962.
His biological father died in 1996, but he leaves behind his mother and half-brother Ronald.
Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this understandably difficult and painful time.
RIP.
