Travis Barker has flown on a plane for the first time since surviving a deadly plane crash that killed four passengers and left him with critical injuries.

The 45-year-old former Blink 182 drummer and girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian reportedly flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Kylie Jenner’s private jet, and were also joined by Kourtney’s mom Kris Jenner and her boyfriend Cory Gamble.

Getting on a plane following the devastating crash in 2008 is a huge step for the musician, who recently said in an interview that he would “try and overcome” his fear…

“I have to. I want to make the choice to try and overcome it,” he told Men’s Health in relation to taking to the skies again.

“There’s a million things that could happen to me,” he continued.

“I could die riding my skateboard. I could get in a car accident. I could get shot. Anything could happen. I could have a brain aneurysm and die.

“So why should I still be afraid of airplanes?”

The 2008 plane crash took the lives of his assistant Chris Baker, security guard Charles Monroe Still Jr., and pilots Sarah Lemmon and James Bland. It crashed shortly after take-off as they were leaving South Carolina following a gig.

Travis Barker had burns on 65% of his body and required 26 surgeries, resulting in a three-month hospitalization.

Although his friend DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) also survived the crash, he died the following year from a drug overdose.

An insider confirmed that it took a lot of work for Travis to finally get on a plane, and girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian was nothing but supportive…

“It’s a huge deal that Travis flew to Cabo,” a source told People.

“The plane crash many years ago was extremely traumatizing. He has needed a lot of help to get to this point.

“Kourtney has been very supportive. She never pushed for him to fly. They have managed to travel in the US without having to fly and Kourtney has been totally fine with it.”

We would understand if Travis Barker chose to never set foot on a plane again, but we’re happy to hear that he overcame his fear.
