Now try imagining how the person who is being ghosted really feels.

Well, let us talk about the getting ghosted meaning first before moving into how to deal with being ghosted…

Meaning of ghosting

The getting ghosted meaning is when a person you were in a relationship with, romantic or otherwise just leaves you out of the blues with no explanation or reason whatsoever. So basically, once they go underground, they break all communication. This has become today’s way of dumping someone or getting dumped. One minute you are in constant communication with someone thinking that you have this great connection, and the next thing, they have dropped out of the face of the earth. It’s kind of like they died and became ghosts.

Now like most ghosts some usually raise from the dead. Then they might come back to haunt you. So haunting is when the person who was ghosting you makes an unexpected reappearance carrying on like they never even left in the first place. Kind of like they paused the relationship then un-paused it.

Why ghosters ghost

Why would someone end up being ghosted in a relationship? Why do people decide to just cut ties with someone for no reason and without giving any explanation?

When ghosting in a relationship happens, sometimes the person doing it has their own emotional baggage to deal with. So basically, they are trying not to have to be emotionally available. I wish even with breakups; people can at least be a bit kind and empathetic. Some just want to avoid the tears and confrontation that comes with breakups.

The thing about getting over being ghosted is to first realize how much effort goes into trying to break up with someone. That said, those people who ghost others put no effort whatsoever… they want to take the easy way.

It is up to you to know how to handle being ghosted. Are you going to let it eat you up and break you down or will you toughen up and move on? Well, here is how to deal with being ghosted…

1. Acknowledge it

No one likes to know that they have been ghosted. The first step towards how to get over being ghosted is to get over the denial and accept it. Just accept that the relationship has run its course, however short that time was. There was a great connection that came to an end because it got lost somewhere. Don’t keep hoping that this man or woman will one day realize that they are still in love with you. Just accept, get closure, and move on. If they cared they wouldn’t have taken the ghosting short cut in the first place.

2. Grieve

The end of a relationship, especially a sudden one that ends with ghosting can sometimes feel like someone just died suddenly. So one needs to mourn the death of that relationship. When you give yourself time to mourn failed love, it helps you move on. Much you might never forget having been ghosted, the crying is a right of passage that helps us pick up the pieces and move on.

One thing with being ghosted in a relationship is that there is never closure. So you need to be kind to your heart and emotions and give yourself enough time to mourn and heal. Don’t be in a rush to get over it. Don’t blame yourself for having been ghosted. It happened. And it happened because that is what was meant to happen.

3. Give your body and soul some TLC

One thing that is known to heal even the most broken of hearts is a little TLC. If you are going to sit and wait for people to come to take care of your body, you are going to wait forever. Much as you might be hurting, one way to get over a breakup is to dust yourself up and do the things you love most… things that can at least make you laugh… fun things that you loved to do alone before being ghosted.

The only love that can make you stronger is the love that a person has for themselves. Self-love should not be taken away from you just because someone ghosted you. One of the most important steps of getting over being ghosted before you even decide to look for someone else to fill that void is to begin to love yourself first.

4. Sometimes forgiveness is the best medicine.

Now even if this person you have been chatting with all your evenings decided to take that connection away in a cowardly fashion try and understand where they were coming from. You might find they didn’t ghost you because they never cared in the first place.

If you dedicated all that much time and they still ghosted you, maybe they weren’t worth your time in the first place. If they chose ghosting as the best way to end that connection, maybe they had other underlying issues that made ghosting seem to be the best way to end things.

The best way to deal with being ghosted in a relationship is to mourn the relationship, forgive and let it go, and stop blaming them for having made that choice. Blaming them will only keep reminding you of what happened and it will only hurt you more. Just let it go and move forward.

5. Moving forward…

The thing is, there is no fixed guide on how to get over being ghosted. But if you are dating online, watch out for such individuals. The thing is, if they did it before, they are likely to do it again. So if they decide to reappear in your life, just keep off or tread carefully. Sometimes though, some people didn’t mean to ghost you. They probably have a genuine reason why they went AWOL on you. If this is the case, take a moment to think things through and use your better judgment.

Congratulations to Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, as reports are claiming that the newlyweds are expecting!

According to reports, Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner – who played Sansa Stark in the TV series – is pregnant with her and hubby Joe Jonas’s first child. And we could not be more excited for them!

“The couple is keeping things very hush hush but their friends and family are super excited for them,” a source told gossip site, Just Jared, which was first to break the news.

And as the couple wanted to keep their happy news to themselves for as long as possible, we aren’t surprised to learn that the expectant mother changed up her wardrobe to disguise her bump.

And – just like all pregnant women, we imagine – will reportedly be continuing to experiment with her wardrobe as her body changes…

“Sophie has decidedly been choosing outfits to wear on and off the carpet to accommodate her changing body,” another source added.

30-year-old Joe Jonas and the 23-year-old GoT actress tied the knot in a surprise, secret wedding ceremony in Las Vegas in May 2019, just after the Billboard Music Awards. They celebrated with more family and friends in another ceremony in France one month later.

We couldn’t be happier for the parents-to-be. And we can’t wait to find out the gender and name if and when they are ready to share…

Liam Hemsworth is officially off the market, as the 30-year-old Australian actor is reportedly dating 21-year-old model Gabriella Brooks.

The two lovebirds were spotted on Byron Bay beach in New South Wales, Australia – and yes, they were kissing, cuddling, and having the time of their lives!

Back in October, we told you that Liam was casually seeing Dynasty actress Maddison Brown after his split from Miley Cyrus became public knowledge.

However, according to sources, Liam and Maddison were just “having fun” together. What he has with Gabriella Brooks might just be the real deal – especially because she has already met his parents. And they definitely approve!

“Liam feels comfortable with Gabriella,” a source told US Weekly.

“His family approves of her and really likes her, which is very important to him.

“Liam and Maddison weren’t that serious and were mainly having fun together.”

Gabriella Brooks getting the seal of approval from the Hemsworths is reportedly a huge deal. His sister-in-law Elsa Pataky made no secret of her opinions on Miley Cyrus, saying that Liam “deserved better” than her. Ouch!

“My brother-in-law, well… After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best, I think he deserves much better,” she told Hola! last month.

“You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother Chris, who has been there to give all the strength he needed.”

The nominations for the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards are officially in!

The highly anticipated nominations were announced by Tim Allen, Dakota Fanning, and Susan Kelechi Watson, as well as HFPA president Lorenzo Soria and Barry Adelman.

Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story ruled the nominations, earning a staggering six nods in the categories, ‘Best Screenplay’, ‘Best Drama’ and ‘Best Original Score’, as well as ‘Best Actress’ (Scarlett Johansson) ‘Best Supporting Actress’ (Laura Dern) and ‘Best Actor’ (Adam Driver). We predict that it’s going to be a busy night for the Marriage Story cast and crew!

Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman weren’t too far behind either, with a very impressive five nominations each for their respective movies.

In addition to the regular accolades, Tom Hanks will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes a lifetime of achievement in film. Jeff Bridges, Oprah Winfrey, and Meryl Streep have previously been awarded the Cecil B. DeMille prize, so he is in great company!

Another noteworthy gong that will be presented during the ceremony is the Carol Burnett Award, which will go to the one and only Ellen DeGeneres. The award – named after the legend that is Carol Burnett – recognizes a lifetime of achievement in television – and we can all unanimously agree that Ellen DeGeneres is a very worthy recipient!

Among the nomination victories, there have been quite a few snubs this year. From Game of Thrones which only received one nomination, to Schitt’s Creek which received absolutely zero, there have been quite a few upsets. And apart from Billy Porter, who is up for ‘Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama’, where is the rest of the iconic cast of Pose?

Whats 1 1 diet?

Wondering whats 1 1? This diet is also known as the Cambridge Diet and it is one of the diet plans that work. The diet is meant to give those who try it rapid weight loss results. If you had no clue, this is an extreme weight loss plan. It revolves around soups, shakeology alternative, and meal replacement bars. And the meal intake is controlled. Well, let’s dive in and learn more about how you can go about it and its advantages and disadvantages.

More about the Cambridge Diet…

The first is that it requires is regular consumption of low-calorie snack bars, soups, and shakes. Plus, the mean plans are designed to offer you the required daily nutrition while following strict calorie guidelines. And the results of following the strict guidelines is rapid weight loss. And in 2019, it became known as the 1:1 diet.

The plan has 6 variations. These range from 440 to 1500 calories per day based on the initial weight of the dieter and the weight loss goals one desires to achieve. The first step, also referred to as ‘Sole Source’ is the strictest. The diet in Step 1 is very low in calories and one is only allowed to eat the range of products provided and 2.5 liters of water daily. Step 6, is known as ‘Maintenance’ and one eats some healthy sensible meals like a simple Greek menu in combination with the meal replacement bars and shakeology alternative whenever needed. This step is more flexible. Plus, it’s also pegged on your weight at the time and goals set.

However, the diet needs to be entered into cautiously. A counselor is supposed to follow up on your progress throughout the entire program. One might even require some written doctor’s consent before commencing. So once you are done with Step 1, you begin introducing solids like a simple Greek menu to your diet slowly as your weight reduces.

How the 1:1 diet works

This diet plan is similar to the Ketogenic Diet. So basically, you eat very few calories and your body is forced into ‘ketosis’ mode where it starts burning stored fat to survive and function properly.

Just like all diet plans, some critics don’t recommend it. Like all diets, there are pros and cons. There are those who swear that the Cambridge diet is a safe and healthy way to shed pounds rapidly. And then there some researchers and nutritionists who feel that a restriction to only 600 calories a day isn’ t healthy. They feel that rapid weight loss also makes one lose lots of muscle. So in the end, you won’t be well toned.

Advantages of the diet

  • Impressive rapid weight loss
  • For as long as you stick to the guidelines and rules set, there is a guarantee of being slimmer in the end
  • Unlike other restrictive calorie intake diets, the meal replacements are well balanced and are packed with enough vitamins and minerals that the body requires.

Disadvantages of the diet

  • Some health experts feel that forcing your body into a ketosis state will lead to losing muscle mass.
  • Some dieters tend to gain back the weight as soon as they lose it.
  • There have been reported side effects such as hair loss, bad breath, diarrhea, nausea, and dizziness.
  • Much as there are sensible meals, the meal plans can also be expensive to follow. So one needs to be prepared for a dent in the wallet as payment for the rapid weight loss.

Does the Cambridge Diet work?

Whether it’s the 5:2 diet or any other kind of diet, this is one of the most asked questions. This is a diet plan that you can’t just coin at home. You will have to opt-in or go by everything by the book. You will also need supervision by an expert.  At the same time, you will need to eat the nutritional products that the diet program recommends.

Below are the Cambridge Diet plan requirements:

Sole Source: Eat 3-4 Cambridge Diet meal products each day (consuming 415-554 cals, lasting 1 week minimum/12 weeks maximum)

Sole Source +: Eat 3 Cambridge Diet meal products and 200ml of skimmed milk each day (consuming 615 cals a day, lasting 1 week minimum/12 weeks maximum).

Step 2: Eat 2 Cambridge Diet meal products plus protein-rich foods, skimmed milk and some vegetables (consuming 810 calories a day, lasting 1 week minimum).

Step 3: Eat 2 Cambridge Diet meal products plus skimmed milk, breakfast and salads for lunch and dinner (consuming 1000 calories for 2 weeks).

Step 4: Eat 2 Cambridge Diet meal products plus skimmed milk, breakfast, lunch and dinner (continue for 2 weeks).

Step 5: Eat 1 Cambridge Diet meal product plus skimmed milk, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack (continue for 2 weeks).

Maintenance: Eat a healthy diet plus your choice of Cambridge Diet products (continue indefinitely).

Conclusion

Just like most diets, one needs will power to stick to the 1:1 diet. The rapid calorie reduction can be hard to follow and stick with, especially the first step where you might even have 200 calorie meals, especially if you are the person who was used to more calorie intakes. But the rapid weight loss is a good incentive to stick to the plan.

Having to drink the 2.5 liters is something that some people also have trouble doing. And imagine having to go without that morning coffee to tea with milk during the 1st and 2nd steps. The thing is, sacrifices have to be made. And even if the diet offers a wide range of meal replacement food packs, the flavors might not be to your liking.

Just to be on the safe side, consult with your doctor before embarking on this weight loss journey because it’s not suitable for some people. For instance, pregnant and nursing mothers or people with some health issues.

Much as there are some reported side effects to the diet, not everyone experiences them. And then there are those people who find the meal replacements expensive. So you need to consider spending a little more on your food bill. For instance, the weekly meal packs start at £50.40. And then, there is the required one on one sessions with a Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant.

The bottom line is that the 1:1 diet is one of the diet plans that work if followed as per the guidelines. Bearing in mind that it’s an extreme weight loss plan, one needs to be careful at the “Maintenance” step to prevent a rebound weight gain or going back to the old eating habits. So if you return to your normal eating, then you will have to say goodbye to keeping the weight off.

But even if the meals packs are quite expensive, you don’t need to invest in expensive shakes and foods. You can always find inexpensive nutritious shakes and foods that can give you the minimum calories to function well.

As always, before making any extreme dietary changes consult your doctor and have a physical so that they can determine if you are fit and healthy enough to take the diet. And if you begin experiencing extreme side effects, then maybe the diet is not suitable for you.

Don’t believe everything you read, because Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have not, we repeat not, broken up!

Several tabloids alleged that the 26-year-old singer and 22-year-old Australian musician had called their brief but intense relationship quits after just a few months of dating.

However, sources close to the stars have confirmed that the rumors couldn’t be more false…

“Miley and Cody saw each other last week when he visited her in Tennessee. They are fine and are still dating,” a source told E! News.

“Miley has been resting from her vocal surgery but has been in touch and seen Cody recently.”

Perhaps the rumors first started because Miley and Cody were simply not together and couldn’t embark on their usual sky-high levels of PDA.

And this might have something to do with the fact that Miley has a brand new home in Los Angeles, and wants to, quite understandably, spend more time there…

“She has a new house in LA and when she’s in town, she has been spending most nights there,” another source spilled to E! News.

“She was out of town and they definitely missed each other. They reunited and you could see how happy they were to be back together again. It’s clear they are very into each other.

“She has a busy schedule and a lot of work commitments that have kept them apart. But when they are together there’s no doubt they are crazy about each other.”

Well, there you go.

Hands up if you had no idea how hard Kaitlynn Carter fell for Miley Cyrus…

Kaitlynn Carter has penned an extremely emotional essay about her whirlwind romance with Miley Cyrus.

“This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her,” the 31-year-old’s open letter for Elle magazine began.

“It wasn’t quite that simple, of course. But it also wasn’t very complicated, either.”

Kaitlynn Carter, who was previously married to The Hills star Brody Jenner, had been friends with Miley Cyrus for three years before the infamous vacation that revealed their romance to the world.

The girls went on a European trip together as soon as Miley’s split from Liam Hemsworth hit the headlines. They were spotted kissing in Italy back in August.

“I fell just as hard for her as I had the older man so many years before. It was that same familiar force of nature; I didn’t have to think about a thing or overanalyse.

“It just happened and it felt exactly right. Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realised I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with other friends, but until that trip it had never crossed my mind to think of her in a romantic sense.”

Miley Cyrus has since moved on, and is now getting quite serious with Cody Simpson. The 26-year-old Slide Away singer recently removed both Kaitlynn Carter and Liam Hemsworth from Instagram – ouch!

However, despite their break up, Kaitlynn revealed that she will always be grateful for what they had. Especially as it has opened her eyes to many other possibilities…

“I’ll remain eternally grateful to my most recent relationship for opening my eyes to this unexplored part of myself, and for inspiring a new level of self-discovery and wonder at all the possibilities of life.

“I’ve been forced to get to know myself in a far deeper way than ever before, and not just in terms of my sexual preferences. I’ve also been forced to reckon with who I am as a person.”

Does this mean that Kaitlynn has sworn off men and her next relationship will be with a woman? Who knows…

“I hope that everyone, when given the chance, takes the time to understand who exactly their most authentic selves are, untethered from what we may have been taught to believe.

“Remain curious. Know that there are many layers within you – and they just might be the most invaluable ones.”
