We are overjoyed with the news that Zoë Kravitz has officially been cast as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in the new The Batman movie alongside Robert Pattinson.

And we can imagine that the actress is also beside herself with excitement – especially since she was once told she was “too urban” to appear in a Batman movie. True story (sadly)…

“In the last Batman movie, they told me that I couldn’t get an audition for a small role they were casting because they weren’t ‘going urban,'” Zoë Kravitz told Nylon back in 2015 about being denied an audition for Christopher Nolan’s 2012 film, The Dark Knight Rises.

“It was like, ‘What does that have to do with anything?’ I have to play the role like, ‘Yo, what’s up, Batman? What’s going on wit chu?'”

She makes a good point!

The new movie will be directed by Matt Reeves, and will reportedly focus on Bruce Wayne’s early years, at the very start of his transformation into the legendary superhero.

We can’t wait to see Robert Pattinson (who is playing the title character) and Zoë Kravitz in action!

Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Pfeiffer have all played the iconic role in the past, but we’re confident that Zoë Kravitz will make Catwoman her own and bring something new and exciting to the table!

Who else thinks that this is the perfect casting?
