Celebrities – they have insecurities, just like the rest of us!

Up ‘til now, we thought Blake Lively was so perfect that she just couldn’t possibly be human. However, the former Gossip Girl actress just shared some very relatable thoughts, making us think she just might be a little more real than we thought…

Blake Lively – who is now a mom of three since giving birth to her and Ryan Reynolds’ third baby in 2019 – said that she felt very insecure about her post-pregnancy body after welcoming baby number three.

And one of the main reasons for her aforementioned insecurity was because she could no longer fit into the clothes she once could. (And we imagine that’s a pretty painful discovery, as she has one of the most covetable wardrobes in Hollywood!)

And finding clothes to borrow from fashion designers was also almost impossible due to her new body shape…

The 33-year-old actress took to Instagram to call out the fashion industry and the problem with sample sizes and unrealistic expectations.

She shared a throwback picture of an outfit that she wore shortly after she had welcomed her third baby – a daughter named Betty – and referenced just how bad she felt about her body at the time…

“I put together a @lanvinofficial shirt and dress from @netaporter to make this pretty outfit,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, referencing a throwback picture from her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in January 2020.

“Because no one had samples that fit me after giving birth. And so many clothes from stores didn’t fit either. So. Many.”

The mom of three continued to call out the fashion industry and the dangerous things it can do to women’s mental health if they can’t fit into certain clothes.

She recalled that she was almost made to feel ashamed of her post-pregnancy body despite all the wonderful things it achieved and brought her, before adding that she is now in a very different place mentally…

“It doesn’t send a great message to women when their bodies don’t fit into what brands have to offer,” she wrote.

“It’s alienating and confusing. And I wish I felt as confident then as I do now, a year later looking back.

“That body gave me a baby. And was producing that baby’s entire food supply. What a beautiful miracle.

“But instead of feeling proud, I felt insecure. Simply because I didn’t fit into clothes. How silly is that in retrospect.”

Very silly, indeed. Once a style icon, always a style icon!

We’re glad that Blake Lively now realizes just how fabulous she really is, and hope that moms around the world will feel the same way.
