Caitlyn Jenner has come to Kanye West’s defense, following his current widely publicized struggles with mental health.
In a virtual interview, the 70-year-old former Olympic athlete opened up to Good Morning Britain about how Kanye West is a “really good guy” who has been nothing but supportive of her over the years.
And although she hasn’t had much contact with him lately, she wishes nothing but the best for him…
“Since all of this has come down, I have just kind of watched it just like everybody else,” the former Olympic gold medallist said when asked about whether she has been in contact with the 43-year-old rapper.
“I haven’t really had a chance… he’s living up in Wyoming most of the time. And so, I just wish him the best.”
Caitlyn – who was married to Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner until 2014 – continued to praise him, adding that he was very supportive of her when she came out as transgender in 2015.
“I hope for the best from him, he’s a really good guy,” she continued.
“He has been the most kind, loving human being and so good to me throughout the years. And especially going through everything I’ve been through in the last five years, he’s been such a good friend.
“He’s a good person, got a big heart. You know, he deals with what everybody deals with things in their lives, he’s dealing with those things. But he’s a good person, he’s a really good person.”
When asked about her thoughts on Kanye’s presidential campaign, she simply said that she didn’t want to go there. A few weeks ago, TMZ reported that she joked about being Kanye’s Vice President if he ever made it into the White House.
We’re glad to see some of Kanye West’s nearest and dearest coming to his defense.
