Looks like those Instagram dance videos are as good as it’s going to get in terms of seeing Britney Spears “perform” for the time being…

Britney Spears has been on an “indefinite work hiatus” since the beginning of last year, and has allegedly claimed that she won’t return to music until her father stops controlling her.

Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, has been in charge of her finances, career, and even personal affairs since her public meltdown in 2007.  She was placed under a temporary court ordered conservatorship, but is now seeking legal help to put an end to it.

According to her lawyer, Samuel Ingham, the 38-year-old popstar is allegedly “afraid” of her father and conservator, and has sworn off returning to the stage for as long as he is in charge.

The latest revelations came after yesterday’s court hearing, which saw Britney’s legal team attempt to remove her father as her sole conservator.

Unfortunately, things didn’t seem to go Britney’s way, as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled in her father’s favor. She did, however, say she would be happy to “consider” future petitions for his suspension or total removal as guardian…

“My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father,” Britney’s lawyer Samuel Ingham reportedly said after the latest court hearing, according to Fox News.

“She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.”

However, Jamie Spears’ legal team have insisted that his intentions and actions have only ever been to “protect” his daughter, and she has gone from being severely in debt to being worth over $60 million since he took over as conservator…

His “sole motivation has been his unconditional love for his daughter and a fierce desire to protect her from those trying to take advantage of her,” Jamie Spears’ lawyer Vivian Lee Thoreen claimed.

“I don’t believe there is a shred of evidence to support my client’s suspension,” she added.

Samuel Ingham will reportedly be filing another petition to remove Jamie Spears as Britney’s sole conservator, as per the judge’s ruling.
