Bebe Rexha has shared some private details about her health with her fans.
The Grammy-nominated singer poured her heart out on social media, telling fans that she is no longer “ashamed” about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
“For the longest time, I didn’t understand why I felt so sick,” Bebe Rexha told her followers on Twitter.
“Why I felt lows that made me not want to leave my house or be around people and why I felt highs that wouldn’t let me sleep, wouldn’t let me stop working or creating music. Now I know why.
“I’m bipolar and I’m not ashamed anymore. That is all. (Crying my eyes out.)”
We agree that there is nothing to be ashamed of. And she doesn’t want anyone’s sympathy either…
“I don’t want you to feel sorry for me. I just want you to accept me,” she added.
“That’s all. Love you.”
And Bebe’s fans can have lots of new music to look forward to in the not-so-distant future too, as she hinted that a very candid and honest new album is in the works…
“This next album will be favorite album ever because I’m not holding anything back,” she wrote.
“I love you all very much. And I hope you accept me as I am.”
We can’t wait!
We’re glad that Bebe has opened up about her mental health, and hope that it will help others who are in similar situations come to terms with their mental health too.
Demi Lovato, Mariah Carey, and Catherine Zeta-Jones are just a few of the other famous faces who have been candid about their struggles with bipolar disorder in the past. We’re confident that having famous faces share their stories can help others in the same boat!
