Ben Affleck was noticeably drunk at the weekend, just a few months after celebrating a whole year of sobriety.

TMZ shared a video of the actor – who was wearing a Halloween mask – stumbling into the passenger door of a parked SUV. He was reportedly attending the UNICEF Masquerade Ball in West Hollywood.

However, the 47-year-old actor has already promised that he won’t let this one “slip” affect all of the hard work he has put in over the past year…

“Well, you know, it happens,” he reportedly told a member of the paparazzi while making his way into ex Jennifer Garner’s house the next day.

“It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.”

According to reports, Ben Affleck has already been in talks with his sober coach following his relapse…

“He’s very committed to his recovery and knows he used bad judgement,” an insider told E! News.

“He is facing the music and dealing with it. These things can happen but he regrets the choices he made. He wants to be better for his kids and intends to be.”

Another source praised Ben Affleck for publically addressing his mistake…

“You could tell that it wasn’t an easy thing for him, but Ben owned his mistake,” a separate source told People magazine about the incident.

“He said it happens, that he slipped up but that it won’t happen again. It was a smart move because now the story is basically over.”

Ben Affleck celebrated one year of sobriety back in August, with many insiders revealing that he was in “a great place” and was “committed” to his recovery…

“Ben is in a great place in his recovery and life,” an insider told US Weekly back in August.

“He continues to want to be the best father and friend he can be. He remains committed to a number of treatment and wellness methods that focus on his health.”

Let’s hope that Ben Affleck can pick himself back up – especially for the sake of his and Jennifer Garner’s children – Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7.
