Ruby Rose has just revealed that she was rushed to hospital earlier this week, following complications from a surgical procedure.

While she didn’t go into further details about the surgery itself, the 35-year-old Australian model and actress said that it took her a long time to actually find a hospital that would see her, due to over-capacity because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Ruby Rose took a temporary break from her social media break, and updated her fans on her situation via an emotional Instagram Story…

“I did have a procedure and I had to have surgery, but it was fine and the surgery went well,” the former Orange Is The New Black star began.

“But then I had a few complications and I had to go to the emergency room to go to the hospital.”

Her decision to go to the hospital wasn’t one she made instantly, and she revealed that she only called an ambulance when her symptoms were very serious.

However, being able to find a hospital with availability was easier said than done…

“It took hours to find a hospital that would be able to take me or anyone,” Ruby Rose tearfully explained in her video, before adding that the emergency rooms were “rejecting taking people and I… and my case was quite serious.”

“We stuck it out for a little bit longer and we were lucky enough to get accepted by a hospital after a bit of a standoff,” she continued, before praising the hospital staff for their “amazing” work.

“Everyone was amazing, all the front-liners are amazing.”

Ruby Rose ended her video by saying that she will continue her social media break, and urged as many people as possible to get vaccinated against COVID-19…

“Please stay safe, try to keep everyone safe. Get vaccinated if you can, please,” she concluded.

“It’s just… it doesn’t need to be this hard for everyone and I just can’t imagine all the other people that are having way more, way, way more serious situations happening right now.

“I’m just sending everyone love. I love you all and take care of yourselves.”

We’re glad that Ruby Rose was able to receive treatment in the end, and hope she is back to feeling her best as soon as possible!

Get well soon, Ruby Rose!
