Sad news, as it’s been revealed that Joe Jackson has passed away, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joe Jackson reportedly died at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday. He was 89 years old.

He will probably be most remembered for managing The Jackson 5, as well as launching the careers of his children Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson.

“We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family,” a spokesperson for Michael Jackson’s estate wrote in a statement to TMZ.

“Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom.”

The imperfections referred to in the statement most probably relate to those constant rumors about his abusive behavior as a parent and as a manager, as well as rumors surrounding his infidelity while on tour.

Let’s hope that he will be remembered for the good times, and not the controversy surrounding his managerial style and his personal life.

RIP!
