The wait is almost over – Kim Kardashian’s brand new fragrance for KKW Body is almost upon us.
Although the official release date isn’t until April 30, the reality TV star turned businesswoman teased her fans with a sneak peek of the bottle on, you guessed it, social media.
The bottle appears to be sculpted from Kim Kardashian’s actual body – and to prove it, she even shared a picture of her naked body with the mould on. Some might call it oversharing, but we’re sure many fans appreciate it…
“We took a mould of my body and made it a perfume bottle,” she wrote on Instagram.
However, if you thought the design looked a little familiar, you’d be right.
Keen fashionistas were quick to compare the bottle to Jean Paul Gaultier, who has used the male and female body as bottles for his respective Le Male and Classique perfumes for decades.
“Same old attention seeking tactics from Kim Kardashian
And this is the reason why Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic perfume is called Classique. #nothingbeatstheoriginal”
“Well done to @KimKardashian for making her perfume bottle in the shape of her body. Just the 15 years behind Jean Paul Gaultier.”
Kim K did acknowledge JPG’s designs, but said her inspiration came from “statues” as opposed to the iconic designer’s bottles…
“Sculptures were my inspiration, but I love that bottle,” Kim told Cosmopolitan.
“It’s iconic and celebrates the woman’s body, but my inspiration was a statue. I wanted mine to be really personal with my exact mould, but I’ve always loved the Gaultier bottles.”
We’re not convinced. Could she face legal action for this? Only time will tell…
