People aren’t happy that Sharon Stone has come to James Franco’s defense, after he was accused by five women of sexual misconduct.
On the WTF Podcast with Marc Maron, Sharon Stone said she was “appalled” by the allegations made against her The Disaster Artist co-star, making specific reference to the allegation made by an actress who was dating James Franco at the time…
“I don’t know how the girlfriend can say that she’s offended that he asked for a blowjob while they’re dating and now, all of a sudden, he’s a bad guy,” Sharon Stone said on the podcast.
“I gotta tell you: I worked with him. I know him. He’s the loveliest, kindest, sweetest, elegant, nicest man—most kind friend, lovely professional.
“I’m absolutely appalled by this.”
Her interview took a hypocritical turn (if Twitter is anything to go by) when she mentioned that she too had been a victim of sexual misconduct, calling abusive behavior “absolutely hideous and appalling”.
She also called the Me Too movement and other similar situations which allow women to speak out “brilliant”, but added that we shouldn’t confuse “stupid and awkward behavior” with harassment.
